Top 5 SA Hip Hop Artists Expected To Drop Albums This Year

1. A-Reece

Since his departure from Ambitiouz Entertainment, A-Reece has been releasing a new project annually. 2019 shouldn’t be any different, as we anticipate a new studio album from Reece this year.

Although the “Feelings” hit-marker hasn’t uttered a word about a new album, its most likely in the works. A-Reece is also set to appear on American radio show Sway In The Morning this year as well.

2. Okmalumkoolkat


Okmalumkoolkat has been silent with regards to releasing new music for the most part of 2018.

However, in 2019, Malume is expected to drop his sophomore album following his debut “Mlazi Milano” which came out back in 2016.

“Mlazi Milano” recently went Gold last ¬†and now Koolkat is preparing to serve us with a follow up album.

3. Riky Rick

The “Sidlukotini” rapper, Riky Rick is one local hip hop act whose yet to follow up his 2015 debut project “Family Values” with a sophomore.

Back in 2017, Riky dropped “Stay Shinning (EP)” supported by a couple of videos and since then he hasn’t really been musically active.

Makhado’s fans are definitely looking forward to a new album from the “Boss Zonke” star this year.

3. Tshego

Tshego was initially expected to leak his debut album “Pink Panther” back in 2018, however the crooner failed to meet the deadline due to him handling the business side of things.

The “Henessy” hit marker has reassured fans recently through social media that his debut album will be indeed dropping this year with the release date to be revealed soon.

4. Tellaman

Tellaman originally readied “God Decides” album for 2018 but the singer opted to push back the release to 2019.

We’re keeping an eye for updates around when the album will officially surface, but it shouldn’t be long before we get the release date.

Tellaman has already leaked two lead singles from the album with “No Sharing” and “Crew Lit”.

5. Nadia Nakai

Family Tree signee, Nadia Nakai is also scheduled to release her long awaited album this year.

Cassper Nyovest confirmed on Twitter recently that Nakai’s first project is definitely coming out this year. In the last year Nadia delivered a few singles and music videos in support of her forthcoming project which is yet to get a title.
